UNE International Bursary

About the scholarship  

The UNE International Bursary is designed to cover a portion of the annual tuition fees for international students who are enrolling in full-time coursework studies at UNE in 2023. However, applying for admission to UNE does not guarantee that students will be awarded the bursary. 

These scholarships will provide a 30% reduction in UNE’s published tuition fees for 2023.  

Eligibility  

The international Bursary is available to eligible students who meet the criteria set by UNE and come from the following regions:  

  • ASIAN (Association of Southeast Asia Nations)  
  • LATAM  
  • The Middle East and North Africa  
  • North Asia  
  • The Sub-Continent  

Please note that the bursary is available only for specific courses in each region. Destination Australia Scholarship

About the scholarship 

The University of New England has been chosen by the Commonwealth Government to offer a selection of scholarships under the Destination Australia Program (DAP) for the academic year/s beginning in 2023-2024. The scholarship is worth AU$15,000 tax-free per annum and is available to both domestic and international HDR candidates.  

This scholarship is designed for Higher Degree Research (HDR) students, but Bachelor and Postgraduate Coursework students may also apply for this scholarship, subject to certain conditions. 

The duration of the scholarship may be up to 2, 3, or 4 years, subject to renewal bi-annually, provided that the recipient maintains satisfactory progress and continued eligibility. 

It is essential that the scholarship holder commences their studies by the date specified in the offer letter. Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of the scholarship, which may be reallocated to another applicant. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must meet the following criteria: 

  • Must have applied for admission to an accredited Higher Degree Research course of study at UNE for the 2023 academic year but must not yet be enrolled. 
  • Must maintain ongoing residency in the Armidale area for the duration of the scholarship. 
  • Must maintain a student visa, where applicable, for the duration of the scholarship. 

In addition to the above requirements, scholarship recipients must also meet the following UNE criteria: 

  • Must not have completed a research degree at the same level as the proposed candidature. 
  • Must enroll in their degree as a full-time, on-campus student. 
  • Once enrolled, must complete bi-annual HDR Progress Reports in May and October. 

How to apply 

To apply for the Destination Australia Program (DAP) Scholarship, applicants must meet UNE’s admission requirements for a Higher Degree Research (HDR) degree. Candidates must submit or have already submitted their admission application.

The opening date for applications is January 15th, 2023, and the closing date is March 31st, 2023.
