The visa has two streams: Graduate Work stream and Post-Study Work stream
Visa Duration
- 2 years: Completion of Bachelor Degree
- 2 years: Masters Coursework (Indian students 3 years)
- 3 years: PhD (Indian students 4 years)

For students who graduate 2 years study with skills and qualifications that relate to an occupation on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189)
What is Skilled Independent visa?
The Skilled-Independent visa (subclass 189) is a permanent residence visa for points-tested skilled workers who want to work and live in Australia.

- Permanent visa to stay permanently
189 visa requirements
- Your major related occupation has to be under the MLTSSL
- Need to pass the skill assessment
- At least reach the 65 points to get invitation (Check your point)
What is EOI?
For the points based skilled migration programs, such as the 189 visa program, you will be ranked according to your score on the appropriate points test.
