Torrens University Entry Requirements

English requirements:

Most courses have minimum English-language requirements, and the exact IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or equivalent score depends on the chosen program. However, generally, you are required to achieve at least 6.0 ITELTS with no band score under 5.5., or equivalent, to get in Torrens University. Some courses, including Nursing and Education pathways, may require higher English scores than general business, design, technology or hospitality courses. Students should always check the specific course page before applying.

Academic requirements: Applicants generally need to have completed Year 12 or an equivalent qualification for undergraduate entry. Postgraduate applicants usually need a recognised bachelor degree or relevant professional experience, depending on the course. Diploma and pathway options may be available for students who do not meet direct entry requirements.

International student study load: International students studying in Australia must meet student visa and on-campus study requirements. Torrens states that international students must not enrol in more than one-third of their course as online subjects and must study at least one face-to-face subject each trimester, unless they are approved offshore online students. Also, students must enroll as full-time student to meet the student visa requirements.

Torrens University Tuition Fees

Tuition fees depend on the course, study level, campus, selected subjects and annual study load. Torrens publishes an official international fee schedule and notes that all fees are indicative, subject to change and may vary according to the student’s enrolled subjects in each study period.

As examples from the 2026 International Student Fee Schedule, many undergraduate business courses list an indicative 2026 annual fee of AUD $31,600, while several postgraduate business courses list indicative annual fees around AUD $36,000. Some combined or specialised programs may be higher or lower. Refer to the university website to learn the exact tuition fee of the course you are interested in: https://www.torrens.edu.au/how-to-apply/fees-scholarships
