This week’s updates cover important admissions and program changes from the University of Adelaide, the University of Wollongong, the University of Waikato, Monash University, Melbourne University, and Massey University, including new courses, application deadlines, scholarships, and visa requirements.

Adelaide University

  • Ranking continues to improve, now ranked 79th globally in QS World University Rankings, placing in the top 10 in Australia.
  • The Master of Building Management program has received accreditation from top industry associations, including AIB, AIQS, and RICS, enhancing graduates’ international employment prospects.
  • For the Semester 2, 2026 intake, applicants are encouraged to submit all required documents early, including acceptance forms, passports, and sponsor letters if applicable. Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) should ideally be issued at least 5 weeks before class start.
  • On-campus accommodation is now open for application; students can apply early, even if waiting for visa results. Accommodation offers are free of upfront payment, with details available on the Adelaide University Village website.
  • For international students under 18, accommodation and airport pickup services are coordinated through the Accommodation Centre; parents and agents can contact [email protected] to arrange a virtual meeting.
  • Adelaide University held a successful career networking event for business students, connecting over 200 students with industry representatives.

University of Wollongong (UOW)

University of Waikato

  • For students applying for Semester B, starting July 6, 2026, it is recommended to arrive before the first week of orientation. The latest arrival date is July 13, 2026.
  • Students need to complete a Pre-check Visa stage and submit all required documentation to Immigration New Zealand in a timely manner to avoid delays.
  • Students with a 120-point offer should consult NZ immigration regarding the impact of deferring arrival on post-study work visas.
  • The Master of Design program will only offer Semester 1 entry from 2027 onwards, and the Semester B intake in 2026 will not be available for this program.
  • The Master of Technology Innovation in Business and related postgraduate diplomas will cease intake starting January 1, 2027, but current students will continue to be supported until graduation.

Monash University

  • For Semester 2, 2026, students can defer their arrival until August 10 or August 14, depending on their program. Details are available in the official deferment document.
  • Students impacted by visa delays are advised to wait for the university’s upcoming communications for guidance.

Melbourne University

  • The language pathway programs for the Full-Time MBA and Master of Business Analytics have been clarified: only the 10-week UMELBP recognises direct entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0). The 20-week program is only applicable to students with IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0), not to the MBA or Business Analytics programs, which require IELTS 7.0.

Massey University

  • The new Master of Pre-Masters (PMP Launch) program is now open for applications. It is a 4-month bridging course designed for students who do not meet the direct Master’s entry requirements, leading to postgraduate programs such as Business Analytics, Management, and Finance. The first intake is October 2026, with a 20% scholarship available for early applicants paying NZD 14,195.2.
