UNSW Scholarships for International Students Commencing Term 2, 2023

International Scientia Coursework Scholarship:  

Value 

  • Offer 1: Awardees can receive full tuition fee scholarship for the minimum duration of their program 
  • Offer 2: Awardees can get $20,000 per year, paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of their program  

Eligibility  

  • These scholarships are designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students.  
  • To be eligible for these scholarships, you need to be commencing full-time study in UNSW in Term 2, 2023.  
  • These scholarships are not applicable for PG online and UNSW Canberra campus.

This scholarship application will close on 31/March/2023  

UNSW Law & Justice International Awards 

Value  

  • Awardees will receive $10,000 which is paid directly towards tuition fees for 1 year.  

Eligibility  

  • These scholarships are designed for both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework international students who undertake the LLB (Bachelor of Laws), JD (Juris Doctor) and LLM (Mater of Laws) programs.  
  • To be eligible for these scholarships, you need to be commencing full-time study in UNSW in Term 2, 2023.

This scholarship application will close on 31/March/2023  

UNSW Business School International Pathways Awards  

Value:  

  • International students have a chance to receive $15,000 in one year, paid directly to their tuition fees.  

Eligibility  

  • Must have a Masters articulation pathway qualification from an approved partner institution; or completed the UNSW Foundation Studies Commerce or Commerce Actuarial stream prior to commencing study at UNSW 
  • You must take a postgraduate (Master) coursework degree program at UNSW Business School.

This scholarship application will close on 31/March/2023  

Selection Criteria for the Above Scholarships  

It’s important to note that the scholarships mentioned above are highly competitive and assessed based on both academic achievement and influential ability. As an applicant, you’ll be evaluated not only on your academic performance, but also on your potential to make a positive impact on society. The selection criteria will take into consideration how you can inspire and influence others, and how you can contribute to the betterment of the community.   • Academic awards and records  
  • Leadership skills (in school, workplace or community) 
  • Extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience) 
  • Reasons why you wish to study at UNSW 
  • Supporting documents to demonstrate the above criteria need to be submitted in your application. Late applications or unanswered questions or claims without supporting documents will not be accepted.

International Student Award

Value 

  • New international students have a chance to receive a scholarship equivalent to 15% of tuition fees at UNSW.  
  • The scholarships will be paid directly to the tuition fees of your program every year.  
  • International students can receive this award in addition to other scholarship.  
  • To be eligible for this award, you must start your study in 2023 and 2024, and you must come from developing countries listed by UNSW.

Eligibility  

To apply for this scholarship, you must:  

  • Be an international student, 
  • Hold a passport of an eligible country,  
  • Take a full-time study as a new student on campus in a UNSW Diploma, Undergraduate or Postgraduate program 
  • This award is not applicable for programs offered by AGSM, UNSW Online, UNSW Canberra, UNSW Foundation, Transition Program Online and any programs taught in the Hexameters calendar or Study Aboard 
  • Be a new student to UNSW. Please note that there is an exception to the eligibility of these scholarships. Students who have previously completed an undergraduate degree at UNSW and are now commencing a postgraduate program may be eligible for certain scholarships. 

Selection criteria 

  • This award is assessed based on academic merit and your commitment to studies.  

Application process 

  • International students must submit a personal statement, which is no longer than 500 words, to explain the reasons why they wish to study a proposed program at UNSW.  
  • This statement needs to be uploaded as a part of their application.

Scholarship and Awards that do not require an application

Australia’s Global University Awards  

  • Value up to 10,000 for 1 year, paid directly towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study.  
  • Eligibility: You must be an international student who commences a full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program in Term 2, 2023. Students who study PG online and at UNSW Canberra are not eligible. 

UNSW Global Academic Award 

  • Value: up to 10,000 for 1 year, paid directly towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study.   
  • Eligibility 
    • Must be completing a UNSW Global Foundation Studies program (in Sydney or off-shore) 
    • You must be an international student who commences a full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program in Term 2, 2023. Students who study at UNSW Canberra are not eligible.  

Future of Change Scholarship 

  • Value: $10,000 per year, paid as a stipend for minimum duration of program 
  • Eligibility 
    • Hold an India passport and not a permanent resident of Australia 
    • Must be residing in India, prior to commencing study at UNSW for undergraduate applicants. Postgraduate applicants may have prior residence in Australia; and 
    • Must commence a full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program in Term 2, 2023. Students who study PG online and at UNSW Canberra are not eligible. 

Future of Change Schools Excellence Bursary

  • Value: $10,000 per year, paid as a stipend for minimum duration of program 
  • Eligibility  
    • Must hold an India passport and not a permanent resident of Australia. 
    • Must be residing in India, prior to commencing study at UNSW for undergraduate applicants. Postgraduate applicants may have prior residence in Australia; and 
    • Must commence a full-time study on campus in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework program in Term 2, 2023. Students who study PG online and at UNSW Canberra are not eligible.
