Global Citizens Scholarships

About the scholarship  

This scholarship is designed to recognize the academic excellence of international students who commence an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in 2023. The scholarship offers the following benefits: 

  • Available for students commencing their studies in 2023 
  • Available for direct-entry international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, including those who need to complete a Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) before beginning their degree; 
  • Open to students who have achieved a minimum GPA score; 
  • Open to students from any country except Australia and New Zealand; 
  • Available for students studying in any discipline (some exceptions apply). 

Value  

The scholarship provides a reduction in tuition fees of 15% to 30% for the minimum standard duration of the chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The eligibility requirements are as below: 

For undergraduate students: 

  • Overseas Year 12 students with a minimum ATAR equivalent of 80 are eligible for a 15% scholarship. 
  • Overseas Year 12 students with a minimum ATAR equivalent of 90 are eligible for a 30% scholarship. 

For postgraduate students: 

  • Students with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0/7 or equivalent are eligible for a 15% scholarship. 
  • Students with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.0/7 or equivalent are eligible for a 30% scholarship. 

Eligibility 

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must have received an offer or admission (full or conditional) from the University of Adelaide as a full-fee paying international student. 

Exclusions  

These scholarships are not available to: 

  • Current students at the University of Adelaide who are transferring from one program to another before completing their current program of study (internal transfers); 
  • Students who have been awarded a scholarship by a recognized scholarship-awarding body, such as a government ministry or department, that covers more than 50% of their tuition fees; 
  • Applicants for Master by Research or PhD programs;

Global Academic Excellence Scholarship (International)

About the scholarship 

The University of Adelaide Global Academic Excellence Scholarship (International) is a prestigious award that recognises academic excellence of international students who commence their undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies at UoA. 

This scholarship: 

  • Is available to new students. 
  • Is open to direct-entry international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, including those who need to complete a Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) before starting their degree. 
  • Is open to citizens of any country, except for Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Is available for study in any discipline. 

Value 

These scholarships provide a 50% reduction of the tuition fee, but each faculty will only grant two scholarships to the students who achieve the highest scores above an ATAR of 98 or a GPA of 6.8 in their faculty. 

Eligibility 

The University of Adelaide Global Academic Excellence Scholarships are highly competitive, with academic excellence being the main criterion for selection. As a general guideline, the University will consider applicants who have achieved an academic level comparable to: 

  • Raw ATAR of 98 or its equivalent for undergraduate programs 
  • GPA of 6.8 out of 7 or its equivalent for postgraduate coursework programs 

Please note that if a scholarship applicant is eligible for multiple scholarships offered by the University of Adelaide, they will only receive the scholarship with the highest value that they are eligible for.

These scholarships are not available to:

Higher Education Scholarships (International)

About the scholarship  

The Higher Education Scholarship is offered to international students who have completed their year 12 high school studies (for undergraduate programs) or an AQF-recognised course or program at an Australian higher education institution before starting their degree at the University of Adelaide.  

The scholarship is available for:  

  • Commencing direct-entry international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, including those required to undertake a Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) prior to their degree commencement.  
  • Citizens of all countries except Australia and New Zealand. 
  • International students undertaking Australian curriculums onshore in Australia who have achieved academic excellence by obtaining a minimum ATAR score of 80 or International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 28, including:  
  • Australian Capital Territory Year 12 Certificate(ACTE) 
  • New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) 
  • South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) 
  • Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) 
  • Victoria Certificate of Education (VCE) 
  • Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) 
  • Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) 
  • Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE), and 

Value 

The scholarship offers a 25% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholar’s chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be an alumnus (graduate) of an AQF-recognised Australian Higher Education institution or have completed an onshore Australian Year 12 qualification with an ATAR of 80 or an onshore IB Diploma with a total of 28. 
  • Have a University of Adelaide offer (full offer or conditional offer) as a full-fee-paying international student. 
  • Complete the acceptance process as outlined in your offer of admission. 
  • Enroll in a full-time study load for each study period of your degree. 

Exclusions 

These scholarships are not available to: 

  • Current students at the University of Adelaide who are transferring from one program to another before completing their current program of study (internal transfers);

Family Scholarships (International)

About the scholarship  

The Family Scholarship (International) is available for commencing international undergraduate and postgraduate students who are either spouse or immediate family members of an existing University of Adelaide student or alumnus. This scholarship is available for students who start their studies at the university for the first time. 

This scholarship: 

  • Is available to new students. 
  • Is available for two or more students from the same family who are commencing during the same intake of study. 
  • Is open to direct-entry international undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, including those who need to complete a Pre-Enrolment English Program (PEP) before starting their degree. 
  • Is open to citizens of any country, except for Australia and New Zealand. 
  • Is available for study in any discipline. 

Value 

The scholarship provides a reduction in tuition fees of 25% for the minimum standard duration of the chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

How to apply 

To be eligible for a scholarship offered by the University of Adelaide, applicants must have received an offer of admission from the university before lodging their scholarship application. Applicants with a conditional offer may also apply for the scholarship, but they will need to accept and meet the conditions of their offer before a scholarship can be confirmed. 

It’s important to note that scholarship applicants who submit incomplete and/or inaccurate scholarship applications will not be eligible to receive a scholarship. Therefore, it’s recommended that applicants carefully review the scholarship application requirements and ensure that they submit all required documents and information accurately and on time.

Applicants should pay attention to the scholarship application deadline and submit their application well before the deadline. Late applications will not be accepted, and applicants who miss the deadline will not be considered for the scholarship.

Alumni Scholarships (International)

About the scholarship  

The University of Adelaide Alumni Scholarship (International) is a scholarship program that rewards international graduates of the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs (international alumni) who demonstrate their passion for learning and loyalty to the University by commencing a second, third, or fourth degree at the University. 

This scholarship: 

  • Is available to commencing students. 
  • Is open to citizens of any country, except for Australia and New Zealand. 

Value 

The scholarship provides a reduction in tuition fees of 25% for the minimum standard duration of the chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree. 

Eligibility 

To qualify for the scholarship, you need to meet the following requirements: 

  • You must either be an alumni or a graduate of the University of Adelaide, or must be scheduled to complete a degree at the University prior to starting the next program of study. 
  • You must have achieved a GPA of 4.0/7 or higher. 
  • You must have been offered admission to the University of Adelaide as a full-fee-paying international student, either through a full or conditional offer. 
  • You must enroll in a full-time study load for each study period of your degree. 
  • You must complete the acceptance process outlined in your offer of admission. 

Exclusions 

The following applicants are not eligible to receive these scholarships:

The University of Adelaide College High Achiever Progression Scholarship

About the scholarship  

The University of Adelaide College High Achiever Progression Scholarship rewards up to 100 graduates of the University of Adelaide College, our preferred pathway provider, who have achieved outstanding academic results. 

This scholarship is: 

  • Available for commencing students. 
  • Open to students from any country (except Australia and New Zealand) 

Value 

  • The scholarship provides a reduction in tuition fees of 25% for the minimum standard duration of the chosen undergraduate or postgraduate degree. 
  • These scholarships are available for top 100 commencing international students with an average grade of a minimum of 85% or higher in the last program studied at the University of Adelaide College prior to progressing to the University of Adelaide 

Eligibility 

To be qualified for this scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:  

  • Have completed a course from the University of Adelaide College; 
  • Have achieved a minimum grade average of 85% or GPA 6.0/7.0; 
  • Receive a University of Adelaide offer of admission (full offer or conditional offer) as a full-fee-paying international student; 
  • Enrol in a full-time study load for each study period of the degree; 
  • Complete the acceptance process as outlined in your offer of admission.
